We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected by the devastating Los Angeles fires, including the many members of the IBA community in Southern California. Our thoughts are with those who have experienced loss and hardship during this difficult time.

The beauty industry has a proud history of giving to those in need, especially in times of disaster. Los Angeles has long been a pillar of the beauty community, and now the city needs our help. Many people have asked us how they can help, either by donating products or giving funds directly to those on the ground.

How you can help

For those looking to support relief efforts, donations of money or essential products can make a meaningful impact.  Here are some organizations you may wish to consider supporting in this time of need:

  • LA Fire Department Foundation provides vital equipment and funds critical programs to help the LAFD save lives and protect communities.
  • LA Dream Center serves as a resource center focused on supporting those affected by homelessness, hunger, and the lack of education through residential and community outreach programs.
  • Baby2Baby is a nonprofit organization that provides critical items, including diapers, food, formula, and hygiene products, to children and families who have lost everything.
  • World Central Kitchen is a nonprofit organization supporting first responders and families impacted by wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
  • California Community Foundation Wildlife Recovery Fund, which provides immediate relief to those who lost their homes due to a wildfire. This can include access to shelter, food, cash, and other basic needs, providing both mid- and long-term recovery efforts to those affected by California wildfires.
  • California Fire Foundation Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund, which provides critical support to surviving families of fallen firefighters, firefighters, and the communities they serve
  • American Red Cross  Red Cross volunteers and staff work to deliver vital services – from providing relief and support to those in crisis to helping you be prepared to respond in emergencies.

IBA member BeautyMatter has compiled a comprehensive list of ways to support those in need, including a directory of brands coordinating donations for families affected and displaced by the wildfire. If you have products to donate, please contact the brands featured on the list that are open to donations.
